First runner-up placement in Jamaica humbled me – Miss United Nations

Beauty queen Rebecca Asamoah, 25, has described her first runner-up placement at the just ended Miss United Nations Pageant as “humbling.”
After being second-runner up at the 2015 Miss Ghana pageant and going on to claim the coveted seat of Miss Africa, Miss Asamoah has once again made the nation proud at the contest held in Kingston Jamaica over the weekend.
In an interview with Hitz FM, she said, “I am also proud of myself for being able to raise the flag of my country high.

“It hasn’t been easy especially coming from the Africa, it’s not easy but God has been good. With hard work, determination and focus, I think it’s a great achievement”.
Miss Asamoah was grateful for all the support she got from Ghanaians as well as everyone who contributed to the achievement of her great feat.
She was beside herself with joy about the prospects and opportunities that the new position would bring her.
The beauty queen is the first person to represent the country on the Miss United Nations platform and she attributes the fuel that drives her motor of success to compassion for the less privileged.

“I am naturally compassionate. I love to help people, especially the less privileged. So anytime I do it and I embark on projects under education, health, aged and environment; it makes me happy.
“So I thought why not? Let me go in for more opportunities so that I can help more people that I can. I think that has been the drive” she revealed.
She missed the ultimate crown just by a hairbreadth to Olga Makhlevskaia from Russia. Mexican queen, Irais Carbajal, also took the second runner-up position.
