KINGSTON, Jamaica — Solange Sinclair, Jamaica's representative to the 2017 Miss World pageant, has finished in seventh place at the grand coronation which took place earlier today in Sanya, China.
The 24-year-old Sinclair, who won the Miss Jamaica World pageant in September, is also the Miss World Caribbean Queen of Beauty.
Jamaica has made the Top 10 at the Miss World pageant on several occasions. Miss Jamaica World 2015 Sanetta Myrie was the last to place in the Top 10. She finished in fourth place.
The Miss World title was won by Jamaica on three occasions, in 1963 (Carol Joan Crawford), 1976 (Cindy Breakspeare) and 1993 (Lisa Hanna).
The winner of the 2017 Miss World title is Manushi Chhillar of India. Mexico's Andreae Meza finished in second place while Stephanie Hill of England placed third. France's Aurore Kichenin and Kenya's Magline Jeruto finished in fourth and fifth place respectively.
Also making the top ten were Russia, Indonesia, South Africa and South Korea.
118 contestants competed for the 2017 Miss World title.
