Jodie Garcia tells all about her phenomenal Miss World experience

Miss Gibraltar 2017 has told the Gibraltar Olive Press about her time in China

SHE is the current darling of the Rock, after triumphing in the Miss Gibraltar 2017 pageant.

But how did Jodie Garcia find the recent Miss World 2017 competition?

She sat down with the Gibraltar Olive Press to tell all about her experiences in Sanya, China.

“Firstly, I cannot describe how proud I felt representing Gibraltar on the world stage surrounded by beautiful women from all around the world,” she said.

“It was a huge learning experience.

“I’ve met with wonderful and very inspirational people who have taught me so much about other countries and cultures.

“Everyday brought a new set of trials and challenges which to be honest taught me quite a lot about myself too!”

One of the most important aspects of her trip was being able to raise the profile of Gibraltar on the international stage.

“Representing my country abroad was such an honour,” Jodie confided.

“I promoted Gibraltar as much as I could at Miss World by telling all the ladies about it!

“A lot of them had never even heard of us before and were extremely interested in learning all about Gibraltar and I loved showing them photos and teaching them all about our country, language and history.”

Now Jodie has returned from her month away she is looking forward to enjoying the Christmas period but also intends to keep up her charitable work.

“Christmas is my favourite time of the year and I will definitely be spending it with family and friends” Jodie said.

“However, I will be continuing my fundraising and raising awareness for Wobbles charity during the rest of my reign, basically helping and giving back to the community as much as I can.”

Jodie will host the countdown to midnight proceedings on New Years, with proud Gibraltarians set to descend on Casemates Square to catch a glimpse of one of their heroes.
