Mariel de Leon off to Japan for Miss International: ‘Get ready for the Lion Queen!’

Mariel de Leon flew to Japan on Wednesday to represent the Philippines at the Miss International pageant.

"Tokyo, get ready for the Lion Queen!" she wrote on Instagram before the flight.

Mariel is thrilled to travel to Japan for the first time. On Wednesday afternoon, she posted a photo of herself at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport with her "Philippines" sash on.

The Miss International pageant will be held on November 14, where Kylie Verzosa will pass on her crown to the 2017 winner.
