Martrecia Cherisse Alleyne was crowned Miss Trinidad and Tobago Universe for 2018. She will further represent her country at the Miss Universe pageant later this year. In the year 2017, Alleyne was placed runner up where she missed the crown by a whisker.
Alleyne was born and raised in St. Augustine, her parents are Barbadian and her three siblings were all born in England. The 28-year-old loves writing, photography, fashion and visual design.

She plans to use pageants as a platform to generate awareness about Alzheimer's disease, a cause which she is extremely close to. Further she wishes to form support groups for those affected by the disease. She also plans to promote adoption as an option in Trinidad and Tobago
