BEAUTY queens from England, Scotland and Wales descended to Newport on Saturday for the Miss Universe Great Britain 2017 final.
The winner will represent Great Britain in the Miss Universe pageant later this year in a location overseas.
The rehearsals and grand final took place at the Riverfront, in Newport, on Saturday from 9am to 11pm.
A spokeswoman for the event said: "Twenty-five-year-old, Anna Burdzy from Leicester, has been crowned Miss Universe Great Britain 2017.
"Anna was born in the UK to Polish parents and is currently studying for a masters in law at The University of Nottingham. She hopes to work for the United Nations or the Foreign Office.
"She took the title in front of a sell-out audience at the grand final in The Riverfront last night."
The spokeswoman said thirty-five young women from across the country joined the competition.
She continued: "In the run up to the final, the contestants have been fundraising for Strongbones Children’s Charitable Trust.
"Together the contestants raised £12,000 for the charity. More than £3,000 has also been raised by the competition for Sheroes.
"The highlight of Anna’s year will undoubtedly be the trip to take part in Miss Universe 2017 for several weeks at an exotic location overseas.
"She will also travel to India to and The Philippines during her reign."
Miss Burdzy said: “Winning the title really means everything to me. I first competed in 2014 when I came 1st runner up so this represents the culmination of three years hard work.
"I am looking forward to so many things, particularly travelling, working with good causes and making friends along the way.”
Paula Abbandonato, national director for Miss Universe Great Britain, said there was an "incredibly high standard" of "fantastic" young women in the final this year.
