Miss World Philippines braves crowded MRT ride

Who cares about the horrendous traffic with a beauty around?

Despite the surge of passengers during rush hour, newly crowned Miss World Philippines 2017 Laura Lehmann braved the crowded MRT train and managed to take a selfie inside the public transport last Friday, September 15.

“GRABE KA PO, EDSA. 4 events. Friday night. MRT nalang po ako. Happy happy heartstrong nalang tayo okay??” said Lehmann on her Instagram post.

The Filipino-German beauty queen, a former sportscaster for the Ateneo de Blue Eagles at the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, is currently taking up psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University. She is a product of exclusive and international schools as she pursued neurological science and Spanish language abroad.

It is rare for beauty queens to take the MRT, especially during rush hours on EDSA on payday!

Lehmann, 24, will represent the Philippines at the Miss World 2017 beauty pageant in China on November 18. Now on its 66th year, the Miss World contest is the longest-running beauty pageant in history.

The last time a beauty queen rode the MRT was in 2015 when 2010 Miss Universe 4th runner-up Ma. Venus Raj took the train from the Ayala station in Makati City to the Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City to catch up on an event.

Other celebrities who have taken the MRT ride were Anne Curtis, James Reid, Vice Ganda, Kris Aquino, Angel Locsin, Jericho Rosales, Enchong Dee, Senator Manny Pacquiao, Gerald Anderson, Julia Montes, Sitti, John Lapus, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Piolo Pascual, and Angelica Panganiban.
