ROSSLYN, South Africa (1 December 2017) – Nissan South Africa congratulates Miss South Africa, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters for winning the Miss Universe pageant.
The 22 year old competed against 92 finalists from around the globe – the largest group of contestants to ever compete for the title – at the glitzy ceremony in Las Vegas this past Sunday, 26 November 2017.
Demi-Leigh is the second Miss South Africa to win the Miss Universe title after Margaret Gardiner in 1978. She became a Nissan Ambassador when she was bestowed the Miss South Africa crown earlier this year and won a new Nissan Juke as part of her prize winnings.
She has since demonstrated her commitment to Nissan by being a credible and relevant brand ambassador of Nissan products like the Nissan Juke, GT-R and the 370Z. “As Nissan South Africa we wish her every success on her new journey and will continue to support the future of Demi-Leigh going forward,” says Xavier Gobille, Nissan’s Managing Director of Sales and Marketing.
