Veruschka Stevans-Warde will represent the NT at the national competition. It will be her first beauty pageant.
“I started modelling in Darwin when I was 16 and it was mostly photo shoots,” she said.
“But I’ve just recently moved to Melbourne to pursue a modelling career.”
The 19-year-old said she was looking forward to using the pageant to improve her self-confidence.
“It will be a very good experience to improve my confidence,” she said.
“It’s a great experience — you really learn a lot about yourself.”
Unlike some other beauty pageants, the Miss World competition has a focus on charity work.
“It’s all about beauty with a purpose, so they partner with the Variety, the Children’s Charity,” Ms Stevans-Warde said.
“We all have fundraising pages where we encourage people to donate so hopefully everyone in the NT will get behind me.”
